25+ years ago SURFING CHANGED. Fins went from fixed to removable thus giving surfers the ability to swap them out. While fin technology & design have dramatically evolved not much has changed in the actual fin-box, until now.
EVERY FIN.
every board.
every day.
AFS’s patented Fin-Boxes put the surf experience where it belongs, in the hands of the surfer. FCS II or futures its YOUR board & AFS is now making it YOUR choice, the next evolution in Fin-Boxes is here.

fin adjustability
EXPLAINED
-
Fins positioned farther forward will allow for a looser feel that's easier to turn. The shorter turn radius will make the board easier to move around on the wave, but may feel unstable or cause spin-outs at speed. Fins positioned towards the rear of the board allow for more drive, speed, and stability.
AFS’s 1D, 2D & 3D boxes enable you to adjust the fins fore & aft.
-
Cant is the tilt of the fin in degrees, in relation to the base of your surfboard. The less cant a fin has the more drive and acceleration your board will have but will also be less playful. In turn, the more cant a fin has the looser and more maneuverable your surfboard will feel.
AFS’s 2D & 3D boxes enable you to adjust the cant.
-
The toe or splay of a surf fin is defined as the angle of the side fins in relation to the board’s central stringer. Side fins are typically referred to as “toed-in,” with the front of the fin angled towards the middle of the board. This causes water to pressure the outside of the fins, for increased responsiveness.
AFS’s 3D boxes enable you to adjust the toe-in.
“Same board, completely different feeling even though I was using a similar fin profile in my fcs II’s & futures.”
“A finbox should not impact whether I buy a surfboard or not, until AFS, it did.”
